What to expect at Microsoft Build 2017?

Like Google I/O and Apple's WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference), Microsoft Build 2017 will be centered around Window OS (mobile and PC) development.

Prominent Microsoft executives, including Satya Nadella (CEO), Scott Guthrie, EVP of Cloud and Enterprise Group, Harry Shum, EVP of Artificial Intelligence and Research Group; and Terry Myerson, EVP of Windows and Devices Group, will deliver keynote speeches and interact with special software developer invitees to discuss new features of upcoming products such as new versions of Microsoft Office suite, Windows 10 OS updates and more.

Key product announcements:

New Microsoft Windows 10 OS update (code-name: Redstone 3)-

Microsoft, in all probability will announce the new Windows 10 OS update developer preview, where it is expected to showcase new user-interface dubbed as the Project NEON. It is said to turn the current mundane looks of the Windows 10 to visual appealing interface by adding new textures, lighting, animations and make apps compatible with VR head gears.

Amazon Alexa-powered Echo rival Cortana smarthome assistant:

Will Microsoft Surface Pro 5 debut at Microsoft Build 2017?

Don't expect any Surface Pro series tablets this week, as the Pro 4 series is yet to complete its one year, and if the company launches its successor, fans will definitely get furious.

So, Microsoft is expected to at least wait until October to announce the 2017 series Surface tablet.

There are also reports of Microsoft likely taking the wraps off the long-rumoured Surface phone, but it is definitely not happening anytime soon.

Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft, recently during a interaction with media said that the company will not just launch phone for sake of it, but will come up with "ultimate" mobile, which will set new benchmark in the industry and for that the company is striving hard to build a device. Microsoft Surface phone is most likely debut in next year.
